The end of an era and the dawn of another
Sustaining the inspiring work at Focus on iThemba, a non-profit organisation in Hillcrest, is essential in ensuring the future leaders of tomorrow. Thanks to a generous donation from the Old Mutual Foundation Trust this momentum is set to continue.

The Foundation were impressed by iThemba's outstanding commitment to children and education and are now a valued supporter and have agreed to donate R20 000 per annum for three years towards iThemba.

Mike Harty, the sales manager of Old Mutual in the Upper Highway area, handed over the donation to iThemba.

He and his wife, Lorraine, work together and both share a passion for those in need. "I have seen first hand that iThemba is excelling at fulfilling a desperate need in the local community," said Mike.

Old Mutual is involved in many community projects where they can identify with the work been accomplished and where specific needs are addressed.

iThemba runs an innovative foster care programme which offers children who have lost their parents a spectrum of opportunities centered on love and support. The iThemba campus also houses the newly established independent junior school, the iThemba Academy, and offers skills training to leaders in the community.

"iThemba is incredibly grateful to the Old Mutual Foundation Trust for their support. It is a core aim of our fundraising team to ensure the sustainability of the organisation and with support like this, the future appears very bright," said Nadine Wright, Donor Relations Manager at iThemba.
