Rotary donates Easter eggs to iThemba

The iThemba children and students at the iThemba Academy were treated to a generous donation of 500 Easter eggs from the Inchanga Rotary (1000 Hills) on 12 April. Award winning actress, Val Bell, on behalf of Rotary handed over the donation at the school and relayed the story of Easter to the children. Val recently played the part of Madam in the ‘Madam & Eve‘ TV series. She was thanked and entertained with an Easter song from the children and many smiles due to the delicious Easter eggs.

Primi treats iThemba to lunch

Chris Ducler, owner of the Primi Polo in Hillcrest, generously invited the four iThemba families to a lunch at his restaurant on Saturday 10 April.

Chris had recently attended a breakfast event at the iThemba campus and was moved by the good work that the foster care programme was delivering and decided to reach out to the families.

“It was such a rare treat for the parents and children to enjoy a glorious meal together in a relaxed environment due to our busy schedules,” explained Lara Whittaker, iThemba parent.

“There were 31 of us in total and it was wonderful to eat out and be served by such efficient friendly staff. We loved the refreshments, pizzas and the generous helpings! It truly was a lovely lunch out and on behalf of iThemba we sincerely thank Chris for his generosity.” Chris Ducler, owner of Primi Polo, pictured with Rodney Heathcote, iThemba parent, at the lunch.
