Bead Beautiful supports vulnerable children

Bead Beautiful Accessories together with Focus on iThemba launched a new range of accessories, entitled ‘NECKANDI’, on Friday June 4. Celebrating their ninth year in business, Bead Beautiful Accessories selected iThemba as its beneficiary and donated 10% of all sales on the night.

Nadine Wright, Donor Relations Manager at iThemba, addressed the guests and informed them about the wonderful non-profit organisation which gives hope to vulnerable and orphaned children. Donations were received by many generous parties.

Bead Beautiful Accessories initially started in Angie Bishop's dining room nine years ago where she employed two beaders from the Valley of 1000 Hills. Today they have offices, a showroom and workroom, on her premises next to her home in Kloof. This innovative business now employs five permanent staff, and up to 10 at times, creating accessories for the retail market, locally and abroad, as well as promotional branded accessories for companies.

The inspiration behind the new range was to introduce fabric, which Angie loves, into her neckwear to compliment and add to her existing range of bespoke accessories. The range has been described as very comfortable and warm for winter months and bright and fun for summer.

“I would like to encourage people to express themselves more with their accessories,” explained Angie. “With this new line, one has every opportunity available to do just that. I would like to thank all my customers and friends for all their support over the years. Special thanks to my assistant Julie Elliott, Jackie Wright my local agent and assistant, the models on the night - Julie Brazier, Rowena Hagemann, Alison Hurt, Trudy Moore, Jackie Wright, Megan Bishop, Georgie Souchon, Chanelle Wright and Lauren Jansen. Many thanks to Karen Monkleinstra for her outfits and all her advice and inspiration and to photographer Robyn O'Donovan.”
