Esther House

The second home to be opened on the campus was Esther House. The family moved into the premises on 14 January 2007. It is a spacious four-bedroomed home, as the garage was converted into an attractive bedroom. There is an adjoining rondawel which is used as a study area for the older children. It is a happy environment with beautiful views of the valley extending into the distance.

Anchoring the home are parents Oltine and Cynthia Mnteshane. Oltine is highly respected within the community. He worked for many years in the Department of Health and then departed in order to study for a Diploma in Biblical Studies at the Union Bible Institute. He also has a certificate in Advanced HIV/AIDS Training for church leaders and lay counsellors and has been involved in Christian counselling at McCords Hospital.

Cynthia is an excellent caregiver and understands children and their needs thanks to her 25 years experience as an educator, teaching English. She has also completed the Advanced HIV/AIDS Training Certificate.

The parents are centred and welcoming and have made a dramatic impact in the lives of the children. Each child is treated as an individual, yet the true dynamic of the family environment prevails which incorporates teamwork and sharing.
