It is hard to believe that what began as a small home school in 2000 has grown into a burgeoning educational hub with the potential to change lives far beyond our beautiful campus. Formally established in 2004, Waterfall College has seen exceptional growth and achieved a 100% IEB pass rate, 15 years running.
Through hard work (and prayer) by a dedicated team of staff, supported by a passionate parent and student body, Waterfall College has earned a reputation as a centre for high-quality independent learning.
While we have always striven to achieve beyond expectation, the creation of Waterfall Schools on the iThemba Campus, incorporating Waterfall Pre-Primary and Waterfall Preparatory School, has invigorated our school community. This has solidified the God-given vision that we hold of a place where young adults are given the strength and humility to fulfill their potential and make a difference in our world.
From 333 students in 2017 to 594 in 2018 and 700 projected for 2020, Waterfall Schools has an exciting story – proudly South African and designed to enhance the future of our country.
Not only do we aim to support our students in their growth, but we extend that support to the exceptional work done by Focus on iThemba, promoting Early Childhood Development in our neighbouring community of the Valley of 1000 Hills and through the dynamic iThemba Scholars programme, which offers Waterfall Schools scholarships to selected pupils from the Pre-Schools with which Focus on iThemba partners.
To make our dream a reality and to accommodate the young learners soon to graduate from the Prep, we require eight new classrooms. September has seen exciting developments in this regard, with the launch of the 2020 Campus Capital Campaign, with a fundraising goal of R8 400 000. A joint team from Focus on iThemba and Waterfall Schools, together with experienced fundraiser Janet Burgess, are engaging with potential donors to try secure funding for the new classroom block.
We are overjoyed to announce that we have received our first contribution of R3 500 000 towards the Campaign and that the ground works began in September. The Campaign team will continue with the fundraising drive and all contributions are welcome (see below for details).
